In late October, Delta inaugurated commercial service with their A350. The airline has 25 Airbus A350s on order, which they’ll be taking delivery of through 2022. So far Delta has announced six longhaul routes with this plane, two of which are already operating. As of now, Delta operates the following two routes using the A350:

unless they open a maintenance base in LAX, that's gonna be a long time for the A350 to be away from base if they add SYD. Plane would go DTW PVG LAX SYD LAX PVG DTW which leaves them pretty exposed in case of any delays or MX issues to mess with the trip since there isn't a spare hanging around LAX. I'd bet they fly it domestically or open MX in LAX
Haha what nonsense, why would anyone pay an extra 1,000 USD to fly in a cramped Vantage XL seat with a plastic door attached, on Delta?!?
This pricing makes me appreciate my round-trip YYZ-PEK ticket in Delta One that I scored for 91,000 MR points with my grandfathered AMEX 50% points refund plus some redeemable miles, of course 🙂
I believe they are gonna fly the A350 DTW-PVG-LAX-PVG-DTW, which they've been doing for a while on the 77L on the same route

Every single time Lucky's comment on the Vantage XL seat leaves me wonder how come he could think those Apex Suites on JAL/KAL/Oman so highly, while consider a product that is way more spacious and equally private to be "only above average" (Well, if you complain about those on-the-aisle Vantage XL seats, the aisle seats on the Apex Suites aren't private neither) .
Also, I wonder if Lucky's "average" really is what it literally means, or just another first world problem. Obviously 2-2-2 is the most prevalent type of seats out there so far, not to mention some quality airlines like Emirates still flies those angle-flat 2-3-2 seats everywhere.

Correct on both counts I predict. They will throw it to ATL as they do with the -200's, or perhaps DTW or even JFK. As they have more planes, I would expect Sydney to be added to the rotation quickly.
As for the -200's, ATL - PVG to start. Later I wonder if we see new routes like more WC to China, or SEA-SYD, or even LAX-MEL
