The Citi ThankYou program, which is one ofthe major transferable points currencies, has just introduced its latest transfer bonus, for a 25% bonus when moving points to Leading Hotels of the World (LHW). This is the second time this year that weve seen such an offer, and for some people, this could prove to be worthwhile.
The transfer bonus results in a redemption equal to the strong end of Hyatt point values. So, if a LHW property is a target, it makes sense.
Their portfolio consists of one property in Oz and zero in the rest of Oceana.
Sad!
They would have been something I'd have been interested in for holidays next year.
Following Amex adding LHW as a 4:1 partner, this puts Citi on even footing for the moment. I'd also say that Amex's addition comes as good news for anyone into Citi and Amex - especially after the recent Citi/Preferred Hotels devaluation - given the 4:1, it can take a good number of points to book a stay, so having two programs to draw from can be an advantage.
