That's one beautiful cabin. Emirates first might dazzle but having all that open space makes it seem like a much calmer experience. Almost like you are sitting in someone's living room.

@Lucky I think it bears mentioning that the seats in row 1 are quite a bit smaller than rows 2 and 3. I flew their new 747-8i ICN-SFO last April and had seat 2A, given that row 1 was full. One of the flight attendants mentioned to the gentleman assigned to 1A that the other seats were more spacious and he moved to 2J. Seats in row 1 are missing the wardrobe and some space next to the aisle compared to the other rows. I thoroughly enjoyed my flight and the hard and soft products are great as you experienced! I grew up flying 747s to Korea every summer as a kid and am sad to see the 747-8i didn't do better for Boeing. It is a gorgeous bird!

Am I the only one who thinks that the cabin looks more like a call center than an actual first class cabin? I mean the seat itself is fine but the doors make the cabin look rather depressing...
I got to try out all that food in the economy class. Just not as nicely plated.

I booked my inlaws on this earlier this year from ICN to Singapore. They came off the plane with big smiles. Downside was it made Cathay and Singapore Air business class seem ho hum.... 🙂 I hope to try it myself soon.
so this week I did a "Lucky" business trip I left on Monday via Asiana First class on their A380 JFK to ICN and returned on Thursday via Korean Air new first class on their 777-300. My comments, Asiana cabin, seat nicer, however bed not as good, blanket and pillow could improve, Korean Air bed, blanket and pillow much better, I fly not for the service and food but for the rest and sleep, service between both of them very close but I have to agree with Lucky that Korean Air flight attendants are superior, also Korean air cabin is smaller so you get better service

Would have love to have seen this wonderful crew, I understand it's Korean's policy for crew not to have pictures taken with passengers, due to their strict dress code.

What I don't get is why she needed proof of an onward flight? As a US citizen, you get visa-free entry in South Korea so it shouldn't concern them whether you were staying or continuing.. Would appreciate a clarification 😀
No alcohol on the ground in Canada? If I recall correctly I had a glass of champers on the ground in Toronto when I travelled in AC's business class to Paris.
I much prefer AF first to this because you can either be fully enclosed or out in the open.
It looks like a very spacious first class product overall. Though I kind of do agree with the suits looking like office cubicles, I actually enjoyed the color scheme and finishes. Overall, do you think it is worth taking this product?
For someone with only 600k+ UR points, would you think it is worth spending the extra 80k points for my wife and I to fly in F as opposed to Apex Suites in J? We are going SFO to BKK. Also, in your opinion, on the return, should we stay with KE (F or J), or fly SQ A350 on the return? The service I would imagine is far superior on SQ, but the Apex suites look roomier than the SQ J seats.
Lucky, your mentioning of a bumpy ride during meal service concerned me. It seems whenever I fly Korean Air cross the big pond I get that. From my "limited" flying experience other US flights don't have that as much. Maybe has to do with which pilots in command? # 1 concern for me is the smooth flight, seat and the airport lounge, as plane food is just....plain food to me. ;-0)
Ben, what's the best f seat number in 747-8 in your opinion for solo traveller? what about in a380?

Going to be flying one way from SFO to BKK on this plane. In your opinion, is it worth the extra 20k points per person to go from business class to first class.
