Easiest to take advantage of non-restaurant credits: order ice cream / gelato / sorbet for dessert. There's usually a DashMart or some other cheap ice cream type place, and you can order these as dessert to complement your doordash meal.
Thank you for mentioning these offers, Ben. Chase hasn't really sent anything specific out about any of this (that I've seen). So, it's good I frequent your blog, because otherwise, I might have missed it. If you can quadruple-stack $300 travel credit, $250 The Edit, $250 IHG, and this $125 back, that'd be wild. Ok, even if it's just a few of those, still pretty good. Lots of 'coupons' to use...
"Beyond the limited time travel savings, the Chase Sapphire Reserve’s DoorDash credit will be improving in terms of value and flexibility. This begins on October 1, 2026, and is valid through December 31, 2026:"
Is this a typo? 3 months of improved DD credit doesn't seem all that valuable.
I downgraded my CSR earlier this year, mainly because the Edit credits are such a PITA to me. If the DD credit was $15/month long-term when I canceled, the calculus may have been different for me (especially with the World of Hyatt devaluation on CSP).
I find best way to get value out of the $10 dollar grocery credit is to double dash after placing whatever order you would using your $5 credit. In most major US cities any order tends to be above $20 for the food, which after ordering you can then tack on some groceries from say a target for anywhere around $10 and get the full value of the credit while avoiding the $20 minimum or extra delivery fees.
Looks like CSR found the limit of how much they can squeeze their customers. They must have lost a big chunk of users after their last set of "improvements".
Hopefully AmEx hits the same point. I think their personal platinum has reasonable value if you can take advantage of all their new credits, but the business platinum has lost a lot of value over time and I'm cancelling this year before my annual fee.
The "be an influencer for us and maybe win some points" contest is particularly gross and insulting.
Other than maybe the $125 IHG credit (that has to be used in the next 30 days and is direct with IHG, not through Chase Travel, so no stacking...), the rest of this is mostly illusory for most people. JSX flies a few thousand people a day? Reality is other than IHG credit, 99% of these credits will go unused, and Chase has another "$1000 in value!" number it can bandy about for marketing purposes.
Chase should reward their longest customers. Not people who churn cards for these freebies and bonus.
They should thank those who had the card since 2016.
I regard the DoorDash bit as a "return to form" given that you used to be able to let those credits accumulate. $15/month on food (and apparently being able to bury another $10 or so in a DoubleDash) actually reaches the level of being useful*.
Aside from that - the Hyatt credit is "Why did you bother?" That's usable at six resorts in the US. Wander is similarly limited in its utility. Sixt is actually plausibly useful to me (a rarity with these things), albeit with the caveat that hitting $500 might be tricky at MCO. And there's a universe where JSX might be interesting, but I don't live anywhere it fits well.
*When it looked like it was three months, I was rolling my eyes at this as a quick gimmick. Three years? Now that's actually useful.
I don't see the IHG option in my Reserve offers. The Miraval, JSX etc are there!
I really wish they’d keep the $250 Select Hotels Through Chase Travel credit long term. That could be genuinely valuable — even more so if you stack an eligible hotel that’s also part of The Edit (additional $250 credit).
I was able to stay at the Intercontinental Barcelona for less than $150/night, utilize all of The Edit benefits AND earn IHG points on the original room rate.
Kind of regretting my decision to go with the CSRB. I chose it over the personal card for the better insurance benefits especially for ECs, but I haven't used that much and the ancillary credits aren't quite as good.
Ah...I remember when this first came out with a big fanfare on TPG. I signed up right away and got good value out of the card until I downgraded during COVID.
On a side note, interesting to see how TPG has changed over 10 years as well. Now, they write about how even the Taco Bell app is a great way to earn and burn points to get free burritos. Bruh...
Just what all csr card holders were hoping for... More DD credits. This is like ceos giving speeches about how great AI is and can't understand why everyone in the audience is booing.
Still not worth the new annual fee. Downgrading this month after having the card since it came out.
Anyone want to be the guinea pig and see if $500 towards an IHG points and Cash booking triggers the $125?
IHG credit isn't showing for me either. I thought it was because I have the JP Morgan but since someone who has the CSR doesn't see it either maybe it's targeted.
