Chase Sapphire Reserve 10th Anniversary Brings Travel Savings, Bigger DoorDash Credit

Chase Sapphire Reserve 10th Anniversary Brings Travel Savings, Bigger DoorDash Credit

12

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® (learn more) is celebrating its 10th anniversary (goodness, how time flies!). In recognition of that, Chase is rolling out some offers that could save cardmembers a lot of money with some popular travel brands, and is also increasing the amount of the DoorDash credits that cardmembers get.

Chase Sapphire Reserve offers limited time travel savings

Chase has just announced how Sapphire Reserve cardmembers can save money with a variety of travel brands, thanks to some limited time promotions available through the Chase Offers program. Unless noted otherwise, these offers are valid for those who are cardmembers as of September 16, 2026.

First of all, cardmembers who activate and complete payment by October 16, 2026, can earn $125 back when they spend $500 or more on an eligible stay at IHG Hotels & Resorts (U.S. only). On top of that, cardmembers who activate and complete payment by December 14, 2026, can earn:

  • $250 back when they spend $1,000 on a stay at Miraval and Alila properties that are part of the World of Hyatt (U.S. only)
  • $200 back when they spend $200 on a semi-private flight with JSX
  • $125 back when they spend $500 on a premium car rental with Sixt (for eligible cardmembers as of August 25, 2026)
  • $350 back when they spend $1,500 on a vacation home with Wander

In all cases, the offers apply when cardmembers book or pay directly with the partner, and not through the Chase Travel portal.

Admittedly this is niche, but if you’re planning purchases with any of these travel brands, this is great. For example, I’ve been meaning to book a flight with JSX to review it, so if I can save $200, that’s something I’ll gladly take advantage of!

Chase Sapphire Reserve increases DoorDash credit

Beyond the limited time travel savings, the Chase Sapphire Reserve’s DoorDash credit will be improving in terms of value and flexibility. This begins on October 1, 2026, and is valid through December 31, 2029:

  • The current $5 monthly DoorDash restaurant credit will increase to a $15 monthly credit that can be used on all eligible DoorDash orders; the existing two $10 monthly non-restaurant credits will remain unchanged
  • Sapphire Reserve DashPass members will now receive up to $35 in DoorDash value each month

I’d consider this to be pretty great, and this will get me an extra $120 in value per year. I always use the DoorDash restaurant credits, so getting an extra $10 in credits each month without hoops to jump through is awesome. Meanwhile I’ve never really been able to get value with the non-restaurant credits.

Bottom line

The Chase Sapphire Reserve is celebrating its 10th anniversary. In recognition of that, cardmembers can activate some limited time offers to save on travel purchases, with brands like IHG, Alila, Miraval, JSX, Sixt, and more. On top of that, the DoorDash credit offered by the card will be increased, with the monthly restaurant credit going from $5 to $15.

These are all great developments, so if this matches your spending patterns, be sure to take advantage of the savings!

Will you benefit from these Chase Sapphire Reserve savings opportunities?

I regard the DoorDash bit as a "return to form" given that you used to be able to let those credits accumulate. $15/month on food (and apparently being able to bury another $10 or so in a DoubleDash) actually reaches the level of being useful*.

Aside from that - the Hyatt credit is "Why did you bother?" That's usable at six resorts in the US. Wander is similarly limited in its utility. Sixt is actually...

Sixt is actually plausibly useful to me (a rarity with these things), albeit with the caveat that hitting $500 might be tricky at MCO. And there's a universe where JSX might be interesting, but I don't live anywhere it fits well.

*When it looked like it was three months, I was rolling my eyes at this as a quick gimmick. Three years? Now that's actually useful.

      Agreed.

People like to make jokes about the coupons from Amex Platinum, but at least I get to use the Resy credit in a ton of different restaurants.

Not to mention the value I get from the $300 bi-annual FHR credit (I normally stay in those types of hotels anyway).

The "be an influencer for us and maybe win some points" contest is particularly gross and insulting.

Other than maybe the $125 IHG credit (that has to be used in the next 30 days and is direct with IHG, not through Chase Travel, so no stacking...), the rest of this is mostly illusory for most people. JSX flies a few thousand people a day? Reality is other than IHG credit, 99% of these credits...

Looks like CSR found the limit of how much they can squeeze their customers. They must have lost a big chunk of users after their last set of "improvements".

Hopefully AmEx hits the same point. I think their personal platinum has reasonable value if you can take advantage of all their new credits, but the business platinum has lost a lot of value over time and I'm cancelling this year before my annual fee.

I find best way to get value out of the $10 dollar grocery credit is to double dash after placing whatever order you would using your $5 credit. In most major US cities any order tends to be above $20 for the food, which after ordering you can then tack on some groceries from say a target for anywhere around $10 and get the full value of the credit while avoiding the $20 minimum or extra delivery fees.

Is this a typo? 3 months of improved DD credit doesn't seem all that valuable.

I noticed the same thing. Seems like an additional $30.

The Edit is the biggest sham out there. Save $250 on 12 properties that each cost $1000/night and are always several hundred dollars more than booking direct and you have to go 2 nights is laughable. Add that to the dining credits where there's only 30-ish places that participate in all of Manhattan.

Thank you for mentioning these offers, Ben. Chase hasn't really sent anything specific out about any of this (that I've seen). So, it's good I frequent your blog, because otherwise, I might have missed it. If you can quadruple-stack $300 travel credit, $250 The Edit, $250 IHG, and this $125 back, that'd be wild. Ok, even if it's just a few of those, still pretty good. Lots of 'coupons' to use...

    1. grayanderson Diamond

I don't think these will stack with The Edit, since they require using the supplier portal instead of Chase's platform. If I had to guess, that's actually why they're diverted over there. But they /should/ stack with the $300, at least.

Easiest to take advantage of non-restaurant credits: order ice cream / gelato / sorbet for dessert. There's usually a DashMart or some other cheap ice cream type place, and you can order these as dessert to complement your doordash meal.
