You should challenge yourself to stop using the word "literally" in your writing. It's a millennial quirk, like using "like" a lot. It wouldn't change the meaning of your content at all.

Funny, I found CX to always be a fairly smooth ride and JAL to be like flying in a blender.
It looks like there's lot of room to bring an infant car carrier but for takeoff/landing where do you put it? I assume you have to hold the baby since you can't buckle the seat in anywhere?
Regarding the ads at the start of videos - they are consistently 2.5 minutes and I've gotten very good at fast forwarding right through them. As soon as you see the HK skyline hit PLAY.
I've done CX F many times from HND-HKG-ZRH and service is lovely.
Why is the amenity kit so cheap? The cardboard lining came out of mine.
Thought they could upgrade that and the PJs as well.

So in the past few days, we've had people being extremely homophobic to Ford, extremely hateful to Ben and Ford, and we've had people bitching about the increased readership from the CNN piece.
I'm not a hater. I love the content. I just wish the language was tighter. And proper. Why is that hating?

Neil S, Australia and The U.K's "National Treasure" Miriam Margoyles would agree with you. She abhors the word like. On one episode of Graham Norton she commented on the US education system and they're all as "daft as brushes". Now there's one lady who's command of English is perfect.
A little offtopic: How do you know which flight is a "supper"-flight on SQ? Is there a rule, for example, any departure later than 10pm?

This blog is getting so stale. I don't want to see the same 5 airlines being reviewed over and over again. I suppose Ford was meant to inject some "fresh" content but that was a colossal fail imo.

I am mostly asia-bound & found CX F & J to be down from previous couple of yrs, the PJ, menu(cheap paper print), meal are all inferior to what I have experienced before. Their inflight shopping is pricier than that of JAL and BR on several cosmetic & electronic items I compared. One a recent HKG-LAX J trip in Nov, even the service is worst it has been, requested items came slow and even totally forgotten. On the other hand, the BR Royal Laurel business is very impressive all around.
Listen fellas, those of you who whinge about the reports. Don't read them. Easy...
Great review Lucky. The fact that most of the US based crew not being born in the US seemed a bit odd. Did you discuss this with the crew? May it just be that they were Asian-Americans (who probably possess langauge skills valuable to Cathay Pacific clientele)?
@ NC -- I did discuss it with them. I talked to them about which part of the Philippines they grew up in. I've certainly had some US based crew members who were actually US-born, but more often than not I find they aren't.

I would like to fly CX first sometime later next year, but obviously would like to pay the pre devalued price. What would be the best strategy for this? If I can find a different first class product can i easily change it if something opens up on CX last minute? Will I have to pay the new price if I make this change?
CX needs to update their china its been around for a very very long time I find their food sub par and service upfront way to false
Funny about the lean cuisine pasta bit. I've actually found the last five or so pasta dishes in F were fantastic! The beef, on the other hand, is pretty dreadful.

Hi Ben... First time reading about your blog via the CNN article... and had since being going through many of your reviews.. Your reviews are great in that you care to include many details that are very important to many travelers, including myself. Will sign up for the Citi ThankYou Premier card via your blog tomorrow! Lawd have mercy. Getting sinful with chocolate cake? I guess there's no shower on Cathay, but seems like there were other ways to be sinful than (a petite) chocolate cake.
I find the CX commercials to be like the Hallmark commercials...they just suck you right in with their 30-second heartstring-tugging storyline, haha. I like the one with the boy and his father where the [olde time stereotypical] carny tells the dad he wouldn't have known if the dad lied about the boy's age to get a cheaper price and the dad responds, "Yes...but he would have," as the son smiles up at his father. Excuse me while I sip on another Cathay Delight.
While I have to agree that Cathay Pacific first is still one of the best options out there, we have seen this post so many times in the past. How about posting about some different airlines and products?
I always find their bottled water to be pretty funny. You are in this otherwise lavish environment and then get a bottle of water that you could buy in bulk at Costco.
