The Guardian added this bit of colour:
“The apparent breakthrough comes after thinly veiled criticism of BA’s management of the strikes from Willie Walsh, the chief executive of BA’s parent company, IAG.
“He said last month there was a “deal to be done”, adding that he “probably understood [pilots’] issues better” than BA’s current boss, Álex Cruz.”
Ouch.
The dispute was always about more than just pay but other issues of concern such as firmer rosters and fewer last minute changes and the need for BA to recruit to the 300 pilot vacancies (and growing due to retirements) it has and boost it's training and induction programme to get those new recruits actually flying.
