Hello from Paris! We just wrapped up a few wonderful days here, and are shortly enroute to the Seychelles. As I’ll explain later, unfortunately we’re not really flying Air Seychelles as I was expecting, but rather are on an Etihad plane. By the time I land tomorrow I’ll hopefully have an update on what that…

Don’t remember reading that you were on an Etihad plane, but presumably it’s because Air Seychelles are ending their long haul later this month and might already have ended the lease of their A330s? I’m a Maldives fanboy, but the Seychelles Is beautiful. Enjoy.

Tips for Seychelles - Although a devoutly Roman Catholic country, homosexuality was decriminalised in 2012. If you are visiting over the weekend, Sunday afternoon at the National Botanical Gardens (Victoria, Mahe Island) is a very popular meeting place.

I don't know if you are staying on points, but if not consider Maia, among the most sublime resorts I have ever enjoyed. Gorgeous villas, each one with its own swimming pool (get one on the beach) a full-time butler who will do everything from unpack your clothes to cook meals in your outdoor kitchen, a superb restaurant with five chefs, each specializing in a separate cuisine (Mediterranean, Arabic, Malay, Creole, and one other I can't remember...maybe Chinese) and a proprietor who encourages you to order off-menu and challenge his chefs to be creative. The banana/chocolate spring-rolls may be the best dessert I have ever had.

Wherever you stay, Ben, have a wonderful time!

@Lucky surprised you aren't covering American flights not flying into Russian airspace because of Syria. The ORD PEK and DFW PEK flights are stopping in LAX.
