Yup. "This is a junk fee" and the Summit card does waive it, which is good. Wish there was more availability for partner awards (especially on AA, but also on other key partners). These days, it seems like it's either last-minute, or nothing. Lucked out on AA 773 in F earlier this year, thanks to AS. Hoping they bring back the sweet-deal (75-85K) JX long-haul awards again soon!
This benefit makes inter-Japan flights on JAL totally "free".
This has really helped pay for the card. I fly AA CLD-PHX a lot and at 4500 points and $6 it’s really simplified my travel.
If you are looking for Y class saver fares on AA with AS...those are pretty plentiful across the atlantic...but its Y....i certainly love J class...but given i have commitments and commuting back and forth essentially....sometime to gotta take Y....its not that bad overall i guess.....
Protip: SAS allows you to reserve a middle seat in Y if it isnt full for 90USD....well worth it for SFO to CPH.....and buy an upgraded meal for 30USD....so you can make the best of it....
But im not paying skypeso prices with Atmos.....especially the FF Atmos program hasnt fully rolled out yet.....we are waiting on a lot of stuff "later in 2026" I wonder why ben isnt covering that shortcoming.....does he have a financial relationship with Alaska....
An odd question, but has there ever been an incident where Atmos (or any airline program) pushed back on too many cancellations?
As my most recent trip approached, I kept seeing better itinerary after better itinerary, and I probably cancelled at least 5 or 6 Atmos bookings (making the waived fee benefit quite lucrative for me).
I started to get a little paranoid when I would book and cancel some in the span of a few hours.
Thoughts?
YTD, I've saved $400 just on partner booking fees with the ATMOS Summit card...so, yes, I've covered the AF for 2026.
