when did AS issued award tickets on EI TATL in Y become basic tickets?! recently booked 22,5k Europe-Ireland-JFK oneway. EI shows no bags no seats. Fee for both on the TATL leg. Seems its P vs G class. But why would some 22,5 EI awards be P and P and other 22,5 EI awards P and G? Same itinerary.
The waived partner award fee is a nice perk, especially for those who make a lot of redemptions.
I did want to add one point of clarification (which i may have learned from DD)…. Although you lose the fee if you cancel…never cancel….you may change your award booking (even to another airport) and just pay any mileage difference…or get points redeposited if cheaper. So, go ahead and make a speculative booking, and if plans change, revise to another, and another…until you can use it.

have you experienced a hold for 7 days that ive seen on atoms bookings on reddit/flyer talk and other friends into the space? it seems to only be with partners and it seems to take up to a week to clear. I kind of want to get this card seems like a no brainer for foreign transactions but american airlines is so easy to get via the shopping portal and dining, was curious if you experienced similar things while trying the certificate.
