Hi all. Wondering if anyone has an update on Lufthansa 747-8 refurb timeline. Ben wrote at thr start of the year that they were due to start in early 2026 but haven't heard any more since. I have ticket booked for December in economy and wondering what the chances are of any updated interiors already being in use by them. Thanks very much.
Great question, @jimmy-k! Unfortunately like so many retrofit projects, this one seems to be delayed. My understanding is that the project is expected to start after the summer IATA season (so this winter), though don't be surprised if it gets delayed further. Unfortunately for a flight in December I wouldn't expect the new interiors, because retrofitting the first aircraft often takes months, since it acts as a prototype.
