I just got a notice from American Airlines that my points are expiring. What other hotels and airline dewpoints expire from? I know JetBlue has a lifetime points policy, so trying to figure out where I actually need to use points from in the near future.

Most currencies can be kept alive fairly easily with the exception of those hotels and airlines that have hard expiration policies. Top of mind for airlines are Turkish Airlines, JAL, ANA, and Singapore all are three years. Lufthansa is also as bad at three years, but holding the American Barclays cobranded credit card (and some spend) will keep your Miles and More alive. In the hotels world Wyndham Rewards die at four years - although Wyndham just introduced a new credit card that will keep them alive.
@jimmys-travel-report-2 In my experience airlines notify you in enough time to use or salvage points that are nearing expiry. Most programmes, as you an others noted, only require some activity to extend their life. SQ advises you of the expiry schedule of your points from six months out, giving time to use them. In the US and AU that can be enough time to redeem on UA and VA respectively (which I am doing now). In AU there is a last resort of transferring SQ miles to VA, although you lose one third of the number of miles in the transfer, and the value proposition is different, but at least you save something.
For American have found that making a purchase through their shopping portal is the easiest way to keep them alive. Alternatively if you’re up against the clock and worried the purchase may not post in time (I had this a couple of years ago), have found that making a 1K point donation to charity works well.
