In general do partner airlines assign their agents at a desks inside AA lounges.
I have seen BA agents in the ORD and JFK lounges. In the past QF had agents in LAX. And the joint lounge at HNL has AA agents inside what historically has been the JL lounge
I have a specific question about LAX — I arrive on AA from SFO on ticket A and depart to HND on JL on ticket B. I plan to OLCI and the issue will be moot. But should there be an issue with OLCI, I’m hopping there is a JAL agent in the T4 AC or TBIT oneworld lounge so I will not need to go landslide.

@hnl -- Great question! In this situation, I believe there would be a JL agent in the oneworld lounge at TBIT, but I wouldn't expect for there to be one in the Admirals Club. Generally airlines only station an agent in a partner lounge if it's the primary lounge used by that airline, so that wouldn't apply to the Admirals Club, in this case.
Returning with an update. There was not a JL agent stationed at the TBIT oneworld Lounge nor the AA FL.

So, did 'online check-in' (OLCI) work out for you with JL; or, did you have to exit the secured area after your AA flight, check-in in-person with JAL landside at the Tom Bradley International Terminal, then go through security, again?
(Wanted to mention, one of the few US domestic lounges I've seen other airlines' agents at is EWR Terminal A United Club, which often has an Air Canada agent in a little booth after the entry. Kinda cute, maybe helpful, eh.)

OLCI worked work me so I did not need to see an agent.
I’m back in SF from 4 nights in Niseko and 3 in Tokyo. Great trip.
