Thanks for the advice, my family are travelling on these and I have moved us to double seats!

Of course, now you have to try out the staggered seats on LX and EK/TQ and compare which is the best 😉

I wonder also, do you ask the crew before if you can take pictures, to avoid situations like Matt had?

@ Greg -- I've flown millions of miles and have never had an issue. As crazy as that situation was, it was a one off event and won't be changing my behavior.

Did you try one of the other seats or is the comments on the cubbie size based on others opinion?

These look similar enough to the LX seats that I have to ask: Are they the /same/ seats?

I've flown in the single seat in the new LX C and been very satisifed with the experience.

@ Beachfan -- I actually didn't realize this till my Austrian flight from Vienna to Tokyo, where I came to the realization. The flight was fairly empty so I ended up sitting in a set of two seats.

@ Chris -- Hmmm, I haven't flown Swiss business class. The product looks similar but not exactly the same. Maybe the foot cubby has more space?

My first impression on viewing the pictures is the cabin and seating area looks unbelievably clean. Nothing really scratched up or worn, looks nice. I like the lighter color scheme as well.

Nice flight report! You mentioned the St-Johns/London route but do you plan to try the BA London City - NYC in A318 with the "only business" configuration?

@lucky. My husband just flew Swiss C and he too complained about a tiny cubby in the single seat. He is returning later this week and sitting in a section with two seats so I will report back whether he notices a difference.

Which single seat was he in? Swiss C has 2 kinds...

I was in a Captain Kirk seat with LX and felt exactly the same as you re foot cubby space - such a shame, but a definite downside of this seat.

Lucky, the seating looks like swiss air business, seeing that you have flown both now, which one is better?

I was gonna go on Swiss Air later this year and the throne chairs look really cool, but given the lack of leg room because of the cubby thing. I think i'll stick with the two seat.

@ Nelson -- Unfortunately I haven't yet flown Swiss business class, though hope to soon. I think the seats are pretty similar, though.

Finnair has these seats as well and I too can confirm that the foot cubby problem exists there too. Not only is the foot space small, but the width of the space (where your calves go) is very, very narrow. I could barely move. Frankly, I'd rather the angled lie-flats to these seats. I consider it a vastly inferior option as compared to the Cathy, USAirways, AA new business class seats.

Do I see this correct on the seatplan, i.e. is there only one toilet for business class section on this plane? 1 toilet for 30 business class passengers?
