For better or worse (or probably both), the AAdvantage and Dividend Miles programs were integrated into one a couple of weekends ago. Prior to the integration it was possible to link your AAdvantage and Dividend Miles accounts so that your mileage totals could be combined. However, a few days before the integration of the programs…

Good point. Another potential benefit could be maximizing the 10% cardholder rebate for each account (if your aviator card is linked to your new AA account and your citi aadvantage is linked to the other)

Do you know if purchasing miles with the Citi card credits at two times spend, or is it through a third party like when I purchased dividend miles?
$3,000 x2 = 6,000 miles, which is added value.
If not doubled, I will use my Fairmont card to meet the minimum spend.
Thanks!

@WN great point !
Is it confirmed that the Barclay and citi's 10% miles rebate is not stackable if linked to the same AA account ?

Hey! This was my idea! I posted in the comment section with Tiffany's post yesterday!

Well, it looks like we both have the same thought, although I personally also wasn't sure if I'm even gonna max out the 100k this time.

@ Bill -- It's processed directly by American so should count as airfare spend, as far as I know.

Lucky, how many AA miles do you have? Got curious.

yes, i can confirm, Barclay and Citi 10% rebates are not stackable. redeemed an award yesterday - 5% rebate marked as "CITI 10% AWARD REDEMPTION BONUS 2015" and 5% as "CITI 10% AWARD REDEMPTION BONUS 2015" - interesting, right? but actually a very logical, fair-handed way to handle this.

also, this showed me that my Barclays card is known to AA on some level even though it does not appear in my aadvantage account profile (my Citi cardmembership does).

has anyone experienced that when they cancel&redeposit an award, the rebate amount is then clawed back? because that also happened to me when i later cancelled aforementioned award - which I also thought was logical and fair-handed, although again, disappointing.
