For those of us with the companion voucher for US Air, will this be eor timeline to use it or lose it as well?

Same question here, I have two outstanding companion certificates from the credit card. Here's the rub, both certs say I need to book by 9/30/2015 for travel completed by 12/31/2015, but ONLY valid for flights on US Airways. Does that mean these certs become worthless potentially several months prior to the expiration date, i.e. once there are no longer any US Airways flights to purchase?

Same question here. Will the certificates be usable on AA metal once they start this process? Right now, they are not.

To answer the question directly, yes, once new US flights vaporize in July, Barclays has "confirmed" that certificates may be used to book AA flights through the "book by" date of (in many cases) Sept. 30. Or at least that's the rumor on Flyer Talk. Hey, I found it on the internet, and so it must be right, right?

So, more seriously, I would hold off for at least a few days here to get more official clarification than this. But right now it's looking good. So far.

I thought they'd wait until Sept. 30 before "vaporization," and so I already booked mine. I'm not much of a gambling man, I guess.

When can you start crediting legacy US flights to Alaska?

@ Ron -- At the latest when they become American flight numbers. I'm surprised Alaska hasn't added mileage earning on US Airways yet.
