@lucky - TAM announced that they wanted to code share with AA shortly after they announced they would join OW. However, the integration between the FF programs is new!

@Kai - Avianca has only a small footprint in Brazil, and Avianca Brazil doesn't belong to *A. So, the only way to get to Brazil on *A miles are some Avianca flights from Lima or Bogotá, or Copa flights from Panamá - and, of course, long haul flights dirctly to the major cities (UA flies to GRU and GIG, and AC to GRU; and from Europe there are quite a few more flights, and TP has flights to more destinations within Brazil)

It is impossible to find any seat available on Tam's first class, but after their major devaluation on its FF program this year, it isn’t too hard to find seats on their business class. Searching with MP, I could find seats on the routes MCO-GRU, MIA-GRU and JFK-GRU. The experience should be similar to your report on Lan.
