American Airlines is finally testing a program to give passengers more honest updates during rolling delays, starting in Charlotte. It's about time.

I don't see why they need to "trial" this. It cannot be that hard update software to delay a flight if it's going to arrive at the gate 5 minutes before it's scheduled to take off.

I don’t know man - they are so dumb that I lost hope .

For instance - in April , BOS-ORD(overnight)-YYC , we got diverted due to bad weather in Chicago to Cincinnati where overnighted and got rebooked with an agent to 5:00am flight that arrives in ORD at 5:50am . After arrival in ORD and checked in the Admiral's club for the 10:00am flight to YYC we got rebooked an hour later for the next day due to missed connection. AA didn’t know that AA rebooked us on 5am flight , AA didn’t know that we boarded and arrived in ORD at 5:50am for 10:00am departure , nor knew we entered Admirals club with the BPs for the 10:00am flight (family of three ). Thankfully, an hour before boarding , the lounge agent was able to fix the nonsense .

I can’t help but wonder how someone that dumb is not jobless or bankrupt ..

Reactive managment instead of proactive managment… This is what AA has been doing, and unfortunately that still hasn’t changed yet.
