I've flown Seaborne quite a bit when I was working in the USVI. The aircraft are old and tired but for the 30 min or so flight from PR, they work.
They also fly twin otter seaplanes between St Thomas and St Croix. That makes for a fun avgeek experience.
Yikes. These Saab airplanes are over 30 years old and island-hopping takes a real toll on these tired airplanes. Buyer beware.
Not only is China Southern not bookable on AA.com, but it is hardly bookable at all. I recently booked an award on them that required calling back 4 times to find an agent who was able to book the award. Two of them insisted that China Southern was not even an Aadvantage partner, and then the third acknowledged that they were a partner, but said there was no availability on the flight. The fourth was able to do it somehow. Really bizarre. I don't know how normal people who aren't miles and points aficionados and know the award availability before they call would ever be able to book these seats.
Be aware of seaborne airlines off loading checked luggage without telling you. Happened to me a four other friends at different times.
Hopefully AA reaches out to GOL, AZUL,Aerolinas Argentina,Sky Chile and Peru along with LABoliviano along with Any Latin Based Carrier to counter attack the LATAM defection. I am not buying what has been reported in the Press and think LATAM may be in trouble (ala airBerlin) and asked AA,Qatar and IAG for financial backing and They said "NO" forcing themselves to peddle their Operation to Delta.I am not a Fan of Doug Parker but maybe the Consummate Penny Pincher had reasons to distance Himself from a struggling LATAM. Time will Tell....
