The Citi AAdvantage Executive Card offers up to 20,000 bonus Loyalty Points per year, based on having passed the thresholds of 50,000 Loyalty Points and 90,000 Loyalty Points
If my goal is Platinum Pro (125k Loyalty Points). Is that mean I need to spend $50000, get 20000 bonus = 70000, then spend $20000 to make it reach 90000, get bonus 20000 = 1100000, Finally spend additional $15000 to make total 125000? Total spending will be $85000
Be careful counting on AAdvantage eShopping points to post in a timely fashion. I made a purchase from LG on Dec 3 worth 8830 points. Four months later and I'm still waiting. In this case it means the difference between getting downgraded to Platinum Pro or maintaining longtime Exec Platinum status.
I've sent multiple emails to eShopping and AAdvantage, and although they're both good about replying, they say it is LG's hands and they've each blown past every estimate they've provided as to when the points will post.
This isn't the first time this partner's points have taken 3+ months to post, so no more eShopping for me.
I have never used the AA portal to book a Marriott hotel. If I do so will I gain points from American and also receive my Marriott points and status?
I've not seen this reported on anywhere really, but systemwide availability has been vastly reduced in 2026. There is ZERO advance availability for summer on long haul and has been zero for months. I realize you're not getting 4 seats on PHL-BUD. But there wasn't anything on JFK-LHR on any flight since last fall for this summer.

One thing I neglected to do, but fixed this cycle, was to fully consider the impact of buying status. I ignored past offers. But, this year, when they offered to sell an upgrade to gold, I took it. I'm regularly ending with between 30,000 and 40,000 loyalty points. But, by buying gold this cycle, I'm guaranteed gold the next cycle if I get just 29,000 (before the 40% gold bonus). So, a one-time cost produces 40% extra miles and perpetual gold ststus (at my current flight level) until the next program change. Plus, that gives me QF silver status, which raises my luggage allowance from 23kg to 32kg on Y tickets.
