Can you write a post about how to get so many layovers or have such complicated routing? Whenever I look for flights, I can never find anything with more than 1 layover, maybe 2 for international flights.
How would you make a mileage run (just a few hours extra) between TLV and EWR on Star Alliance for United miles. My dh does the same route 6 times a year and we only have been able to get him to silver status so far. Any ideas would be most welcomed. Thanks so much!

@ DealsSeeker -- With Star Alliance it can be tougher than with OneWorld. As I mentioned above, I'll write a post about how to do it, though.
@ Ben -- Yes, since the cabin was so empty many of us started talking, and then we realized we were all more or less in it for the miles. As far as name dropping, whaddya mean?
I use this site on the jet stream forecast to help me gauge what the path and time of arrival will look like for my longer trips. You really do then see your path and ground speeds along the way line up with the forecast maps!
