Is there any indication that AS will ease some of the SEA specific lounge access restrictions now that they're back to 3 locations?
I suppose I could've missed it, but I haven't noticed any access restrictions in SEA as I've traveled through quite a bit the last few months. What were they? Priority pass?
I think this lounge is only stated to be around for 5 to 7 years because there's a major CD concourse renovation and then lounge then and that's why they kept the renovation right
As more and more Alaska has flights leaving from terminal S, will you have a lounge there?
I had an Alaska Boardroom membership for two years, and this was the lounge that I frequented the most. It's right next to the Precheck-only Security Gate 4, so it's the most convenient Alaska Lounge to anywhere in SeaTac.
Completely agree with the assessment that this is a "light remodel." It's needed, yes, but it's underwhelming.
The barista area is both the biggest change and the most hilarious. I agree it looks just like a Hampton Inn! But they didn't have a barista area in the Concourse D Lounge, so this is a nice upgrade. It was just a pair of automatic espresso machines, where one was often broken or needing a cleaning cycle, in a narrow passage way that was always crowded and awkward.
I have had an Alaskan lounge membership for years. Compared to the Amex lounges it is sad. I love the people. But more than six months after f plastic cups in the n club! And are the bartenders trained to Mayr drinks?
Traveling on a First Class ticket IAD-SAN-SEA-ANC (AA EXP) I decided to try the C gates Alaskan Lounge. I read it was newly renovated but it is very small. I am not a fan of Admiral Clubs either. I normally travel 90 % international and frequent CX, BA, LH, JL, NH, SQ to name a few lounges. The coffee machine produced poorly tasty coffee, small seating area, no showers if you were to come off an Intl flight, soups were crap, only after an hour did they bring out some cold cuts and pretzel rolls. I imagine their BF offering is also trash. They charge $600 for a membership. I think it is the same cost at UA and AA lounges. I always fly business class internationally and in most cases overseas lounges are by far superior than US carrier domestic lounges. I am flying back to IAD on the 27th so I will check out that new D gates lounge. Also in SEA C lounge the lady at first didn't want to let me in because of some mile rule. Never heard of that crap. I had a RT ticket for First and then they want to nickel and dime me to let me in.
The lack of showers in Alaska's lounges is still glaring.
They provide significant feed and onward connectivity for plenty of long-haul flights operated by their oneworld partners - we're not animals!
I doubt that showers can be justified given the domestic and short-haul focus of Alaskan. In fact many international flagship carriers do not have showers in their lounges. They take a lot of space to provide and are labour-intensive to maintain.
