In the interest of full disclosure, OMAAT earns a referral bonus for anyone that’s approved through some of the below links. For those of you not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program available through most American Express cards, where different cards are eligible for different savings and bonus offers. In many cases the offers can be huge, and more than offset the annual fee on a card.

To view Amex Offers, go to the bottom of the account summary page of any American Express card, where you’ll see all the offers you’re eligible for. These offers come in different forms, including discounts and even in some cases bonus points.

Earn 20K Bonus Points With All Nippon Airways

At the moment there’s a great new targeted offer on airfare. Specifically, there’s an Amex Offer for 20,000 bonus Membership Rewards points when you spend $1,000+ in one or more transactions with All Nippon Airways by December 1, 2019.

In order to be eligible, you need to book on ANA’s US website and your travel needs to originate in the US.

As you’d expect, this promotion excludes purchases in-person at the airport and in lounges, onboard purchases of food, beverages, and wifi, hotel bookings and car rentals, and other third party bookings.

This promotion is targeted. It’s not as widely targeted as some offers (sometimes I see offers on almost all of my cards), but rather in this case I just see it on just a couple of my cards. The best case scenario is that you see the offer on The Platinum Card® from American Express, since the card offers 5x points on airfare purchases.

There might also be a version of the offer for $200 back when you spend $1,000+. Personally I think the deal for bonus points is much better. That’s because I value Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each, so I value the points at $340, which is more than one third back.

So if you spent $1,000 with the Amex Platinum Card on an eligible purchase you’d earn a total of 25,000 Membership Rewards points, which is pretty incredible.

This is a great way to earn bonus points for ANA flights

Bottom Line

If you’re planning on booking an ANA revenue ticket anytime soon, this is a great opportunity to earn 20,000 bonus points when you spend $1,000+.

This deal is best if you get the offer on The Platinum Card® from American Express, since you can earn 5x points on airfare purchased directly with airlines on that card.

If you were targeted, do you plan on taking advantage of this Amex Offer?

  1. @Lucky: Question for you.

I haven’t checked to see if I have this offer, but I will probably shortly be booking two ANA award tickets out of my account which will have taxes of just over $1000 combined. That would not be on the website since you have to call in for these awards, and it wouldn’t be for fare, just taxes, but it would be a “transaction”.

Any idea if that would qualify for this offer?

  2. @LarryinNYC

Since you’re booking the award regardless, why don’t you let us know the result. Thanks!

  3. @E: Because I would use my CSR to book the award under normal circumstances while I’d have to use an Amex card in order to get the points.

  4. T&C says it excludes code share flights. Anyone has data point that UA code share flight would be qualified? Thank you.
