As I mentioned last week, HarperCollins sent me a copy of Captain Sullenberger’s book, “Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters.” And just to appease the FTC and their new blogging regulations, I should clarify that I received the book for free (doesn’t the FTC getting involved in blogging make you feel so much better?). I have to admit I’m not much into reading, at least when it comes to 300+ page books that go on and on and on and on. Anyway, I decided to start reading the book on Saturday as I was traveling for 15 hours, and I just finished the book on the redeye I just got off of 30 minutes ago. Yes, in less than 48 hours I read a 300+ page book cover-to-cover. So I guess I don’t need to tell you it was a good read.
Parts of it weren’t all that exciting for me, as they focused on military training, but I found the part focused on the life of an airline pilot to be fascinating, and more specifically his life and family. He also provided the most thorough second-by-second recollection of January 15, 2009, that I’ve ever read. I don’t want to give away too many details, but he really did lead an interesting life up until January 15, 2009, with plenty of unique circumstances, and even more so after. There are plenty of highs and lows in the story.
So I do recommend it. And you know what’s even more exciting than reading a 300+ page book? Reading a 300+ page book before it is officially released!
" I have to admit I’m not much into reading".
That can't 'be good for the GPA.
