Germany doesn’t exactly have all that many luxury hotels, so it’s always exciting when we see new properties open. Along those lines, one property that we’ve been anticipating for some time is welcoming its first guests as of today, and I look forward to checking it out.
In this post:
Basics of the Conrad Hotel Hamburg, Germany
At the end of 2022, we saw the closure of the Park Hyatt Hamburg. While the property wasn’t really up to the typical Park Hyatt standards, it was the country’s only Park Hyatt, and many of us really liked the property. At the time, it was announced that the hotel would undergo a renovation, and reopen as the Conrad Hamburg, as part of the Hilton Honors portfolio.

That project has now been completed, as the Conrad Hamburg has opened as of today, September 2, 2025. The Conrad Hamburg features 238 accommodations, including 25 suites and 32 residential suites.

The hotel boasts Greta Oto Restaurant & Bar as its signature dining outlet, and it serves Latin American food. Funny enough, this seems to be a restaurant brand that exists exclusively in German hotels, as you’ll also find this at the JW Marriott Frankfurt and Koenigshof Munich.

The hotel also has a full-service spa, an indoor pool, a gym, and a club lounge (which select Hilton Honors members get access to), so it has quite the number of amenities. However, note that the spa and pool are only opening as of early November 2025.
While Germany isn’t in the same league as France or Italy when it comes to attracting tourists, I think Northern Germany has a lot to offer, and I quite like Hamburg as a city.
I was a fan of the old Park Hyatt Hamburg, and it seems like quite a bit of money was spent to update this hotel, which should take it to the next level. What’s cool is that this hotel blends its historic roots (it’s located inside the historic Levantehaus building, initially built in 1912) with the modern comforts you’d expect.
Ultimately Hilton Honors’ luxury portfolio is growing nicely across the globe time. I of course still prefer World of Hyatt to Hilton Honors in terms of elite perks and the ability to get guaranteed benefits, but I’m always happy staying at a well regarded Hilton Honors property as well.
Conrad Hotel Hamburg rates & points requirements
With the Conrad Hamburg now open, what are rates like? Germany ultimately isn’t that expensive of a hotel market, even on the high end, at least compared to some other European countries. As of now, I see rates starting at just over €250 per night. Since this is a luxury Hilton property, you can also book through the Hilton for Luxury program to get more value.

When it comes to redeeming Hilton Honors points, I currently see stays starting at 75,000 points per night, and they go up from there. Hilton Honors elite members can stretch their points and get a fifth night free, which will be an even better value.

In general, points don’t seem to offer an outsized value compared to paying cash, so personally, I’d save my points for other properties.
Bottom line
The Conrad Hamburg has opened as of early September 2025. This property replaces the Park Hyatt that closed in 2022, as the property has undergone a substantial renovation. I look forward to checking out this hotel, as it should be one of the best points hotels in Germany!
What do you make of the new Conrad Hamburg?
Beautiful looking property and reasonable-looking rates for what it is. When I finally get to Hamburg to see Miniatur Wonderland I'll consider staying here.
Although there are instances, at no point can you get CLEAR and easy outsized value for your Hilton points..just use them
Would love to check it out, but I need the nights booked at the Lindner Hamburg to make it to Hyatt Globalist this year....and probably $10K of spend on the card. :(
Fingers crossed the Lindner can stay solvent (or open) a few more months.
After Park Hyatt closed I switched to The Fontenay for my stays in Hamburg. What a location on the lake (still close to the old town) and such a fantastic property. I won’t stay anywhere else now.
Looks like where the Shining was filmed. No thanks.
The Conrad Hamburg belongs to the "Munich Hotel Partners" which owns as well the Koenigshof, JW Marriott and few more. That's the reason they have all a "Greta Oto Restaurant". Source https://www.mhphotels.com

I live in Hamburg and can show you some nice places and restaurants.
Hi Peter, How's the biking around Hamburg? Lot of paths through the city and to surrounding villages?
He's married, Peter. It would be wildly inappropriate to meet up with a stranger like that.
I claim it
