Hyatt FIND, A Wellbeing Experiences Platform

Over the years, we’ve seen many major loyalty programs launch experiences marketplaces and platforms. The idea is that these allow you to redeem points for unique experiences you might not otherwise consider, and it presents a fun alternative for redeeming your points in a memorable way.

Back in 2018, World of Hyatt launched its experiences platform, named FIND. This was suspended for some amount of time, and has just been reintroduced, with a new focus.

Hyatt FIND offers wellbeing experiences

World of Hyatt has relaunched FIND, described as an experiences platform, designed to complement members’ wellbeing journeys. This is based on three pillars of wellbeing — “Feel (Your Mind), Fuel (Your Body), and Function (How You Move).”

FIND offers 200+ experiences across 85+ destinations in 30 countries to all World of Hyatt members, regardless of status, and you can access the platform here. Members can either pay cash for these experiences and earn points, or can redeem their World of Hyatt points for these experiences. Experiences start at just $15. We’ll also see some limited-time auctions and even gift experiences, which could make good holiday gifts.

Here’s how Amy Weinberg, Hyatt’s SVP of Loyalty, Brand Marketing, and Consumer Insights, describes this:

The FIND platform allows for more opportunities to enhance World of Hyatt members’ wellbeing through a lens of self-discovery. With experiences available to all members, it’s incredibly easy for them to find something that moves them or keeps them moving.”

Earning & redeeming Hyatt points for FIND experiences

World of Hyatt members can earn and redeem points for Hyatt FIND experiences. You have two options:

• You can pay cash for FIND experiences, and earn 10x World of Hyatt points per dollar spent, which is double the regular earnings rate for hotel stays (you usually earn 5x points per dollar spent at Hyatt properties); I value World of Hyatt points at 1.5 cents each, so to me that’s the equivalent of a 15% return
• If paying cash for FIND experiences, you’re also eligible for your typical elite bonuses — Discoverists earn a 10% bonus, Explorists earn a 20% bonus, and Globalists earn a 30% bonus
• Base points earned with FIND experiences count toward lifetime World of Hyatt Globalist status
• If you pay cash for FIND experiences, you can earn 4x World of Hyatt bonus points with either the World of Hyatt Credit Card (review) or World of Hyatt Business Credit Card (review)
• You can redeem World of Hyatt points for FIND experiences, and you get a consistent 1.4 cents of value per point this way

If we’re going to view points as a true currency, then I’d say paying cash is generally a better value here. That’s because if you redeem points you’re also forgoing at least 10x points per dollar you could get if paying cash, meaning the real value you’re getting is 1.2 cents per point (1.4 cents, minus 15% to account for the value of the points you’re forgoing). That doesn’t even account for elite bonuses or credit card rewards.

Examples of Hyatt FIND experiences

While there are 200+ experiences available through the Hyatt FIND platform, here’s a small sampling of some of the options that are available:

• Do a 75-minute Japanese whisky tasting at Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco for $85 or 6,071 Hyatt points
• Take a five-hour cruise from the Park Hyatt Maldives to the equator for $770 or 55,000 Hyatt points
• Go on a one-hour open air jungle safari at the Alila Ubud for $40 or 2,857 Hyatt points
• Go on a five-hour Viennese vineyard tour at the Park Hyatt Vienna for $589.58 or 42,112 Hyatt points
• Have a two-hour personalized cocktail tasting at the Andaz Dubai the Palm for $150 or 10,714 Hyatt points
• Get a 30-60 minute helicopter tour of Miami with Heli Air Miami for $199 or 14,214 Hyatt points

Bottom line

Hyatt has relaunched its FIND experiences platform, allowing members to book wellbeing experiences. You can either pay for these experiences and earn 10x World of Hyatt base points per dollar spent, or you can redeem World of Hyatt points toward these experiences at the rate of 1.4 cents each.

I wouldn’t really consider this to be a game changer one way or another, though this could be a cool platform to keep an eye on, especially in conjunction with a Hyatt stay.
