New Trailer For Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020

22

Gosh Microsoft, please stop teasing us, and come out with this already. Or maybe don’t, because I’ll just be playing 24/7 and won’t get anything else done.

Over the summer I wrote about how a new Microsoft Flight Simulator will be unveiled in 2020. I literally spent most of my childhood playing Microsoft Flight Simulator, but in my opinion the last good version was the one introduced in 2004 (I didn’t think Microsoft Flight Simulator X, release in 2006, was much of an improvement).

Here’s the trailer they provided when they first announced that this was coming:

And here’s the newest trailer for the game, released this week:

I. Cannot. Wait.

Hello, Iv'e been using flight sim since 1998, and can't leave It alone, even helped me when I was poorly. But time has got on and a new make over is overdue! (no offence) So myself and a whole bunch of people worldwide, will be looking forward to this new venture. Looking at the vids it looks absolutely amazing, worth waiting for. So hurry up PLEASE!

X Plane has been my go to for a while now, good sim, but I didn't upgrade to 11 since I figured that would not run well on my 3 year old machine. Goodness knows what spec will be needed to run at the smoothness and resolution shown in the preview. Probably would need to spend a few thousand on a new computer first lol. Looks great though!

    @ markiteight Stimulator, you say? : P

@Eskimo: The Flight Stimulator dev team took over my flight school facilities (and all our aircraft) for a couple days to gather real world telemetry. The school is located on the other side of the runway from where the 737 is assembled. Our ramp is surrounded by grounded Max's. So to answer your question...yes?

What are the basic PC requirements (RAM, processor etc)?
And how much is the Flight sim software?

Any chance we can try to recover from MCAS on the 737MAX?

Now that would be worth waiting for.

@flightwonk: Microsoft is pushing the XBox brand for all of their gaming, including the PC. They also have what's called 'XBOX Play Anywhere', which makes it possible to transition from the XBox to the PC and back, so it's likely the game will be available on both.

@James: It's quite possible this will be available through XCloud, their new game streaming service. In that case as long as you have decent Internet connection, you'll be...

Ever watched the Flight Channel aviation crash videos. Sometimes those feel like the real thing. Spent hours on Flight Simulator myself!

That 747 shot at the end is making me moist.

Previous versions of the game was available only in PC. Now I see it is advertised only for the XBOX. Will it be available also on PC and maybe for other consoles such as PS4?

I need someone to tell me what the difference will be in terms of gameplay between the Xbox One version and the PC version.

It looks amazing but I'm wondering what kind of hardware we will need to actually run it at those settings. I have a pretty recent core i7 with a 6GB 1060 graphics card and I can barely run xplane at high settings. I don't think this is going to be realistic unless you're willing to spend a grand or two to upgrade your PC.

“Microsoft should make “AA Delay simulator.” You have to sit in front of your computer for hours while the departure time keeps incrementing by 10 minutes. If you walk away even for a moment, the plane leaves without you and you lose.”

    Ben: 'I. Cannot. Wait.'

You'll have to wait until 2030, when the PC that can run those graphics will be available for purchase to the the general public.

This is absolutely jaw-dropping. Especially the above videos of the cities.

I think Ben just ruined my productivity...

Looks really good. Here are nine cities in the game from IGN. Looks so amazing.

Clicked on the link to your first post on this last June, which somehow I hadn't seen before, and found a hilarious comment there, which I just have to post here for anyone who also didn't see it then:

    Chris says:

    ROTFL...
