Over the past several weeks we’ve seen several business class fare wars to Europe, which are always exciting. For example, a few weeks ago we saw ~$2000 fares between the West Coast and Europe. Last week we saw similarly good fares between the East Coast and Europe.
The best part of both of these offers was that they were stackable with some other great promotions — you could receive a $400 discount when booking through AARP, and then save a further 10% when paying with the British Airways Visa Signature® Card, as long as all flights are operated by British Airways.
The good news is that it looks like some similarly good fares are back for travel on oneworld — I’m seeing business class fares of ~$2,100 for travel between Las Vegas, San Diego, or Seattle, and Amsterdam, Milan, and Rome. I’m sure there are other markets where it’s available as well, though those are the ones I came across.

After you apply the $400 AARP discount, the fare drops to ~$1,700.
Then on the purchase page if you apply the 10% discount from the British Airways Visa Signature® Card, it brings down the fare another ~$170.
In the end you’re looking at ~$1,530 business class fares between the West Coast and Europe, which is amazing.
I’m sure there are markets aside from the ones above with similarly great fares, though those are the ones I found. The good news is that for the most part these fares are valid through the end of the schedule, and on any transatlantic oneworld carrier.
In terms of the discounts, keep in mind that:
- The $400 AARP discount can be applied for travel on partner carriers, and is only valid for flights booked through October 14, 2014 for outbound travel through March 31, 2015
- The 10% discount from the British Airways Visa Signature® Card only applies for travel on British Airways
Anyway, these are some amazing fares, and great ways to pick up oneworld elite qualifying miles.
