Score A Deal On A Starwood Hotel In Paris

This deal isn’t a reason to stop everything you’re doing and plan a trip to Paris, but if you are a Starwood loyalist and are headed to Paris in the coming months, it’s certainly a deal to be aware of.

Ford has written in the past about Starwood’s Luxury Privileges program, which is the Starwood equivalent of Virtuoso, American Express Fine Hotels & Resort, Four Seasons Preferred Partners, etc. Typically by booking through an advisor who belongs to Luxury Privileges you get a room upgrade based on availability, free breakfast, and some sort of property specific amenity, like a $100 food & beverage or spa credit.

However, at the moment Starwood Luxury Privileges has some generous offers for their three properties in Paris. Specifically, I’m talking about the Price de Galles (Luxury Collection), Westin Vendome, and W Opera.

Prince de Galles Hotel Paris

Typically for booking through Luxury Privileges you receive the following benefits at these hotels:

  • One 100 USD food and beverage credit per room, per stay
  • Daily buffet breakfast for two guests
  • Complimentary standard in-room internet access
  • Upgrade on arrival, early check-in and late check-out which are all subject to availability

However, at the moment these hotels are offering a further deal:

  • Receive a complimentary third night if staying between November 1, 2016, and April 30, 2017 (there are blackout dates of December 30, 31, 2016; February 28; March 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 2017
  • Receive a confirmed room upgrade to the next category at the time of booking, subject to availability
  • At the Price de Galles and the W, the Luxury Privileges rate is 10% less than the flexible rate (meanwhile at the Westin the Luxury Privileges rate is the same as the flexible rate, as is the norm)

Again, you’re not going to get any once in a lifetime deal here, but if you’re considering going to Paris this is certainly something to consider, especially if you might have otherwise considered staying at another chain, or redeeming points.

Getting 10% off the flexible rate, plus a confirmed upgrade, plus a third night free, plus a $100 food & beverage credit, plus free breakfast, etc., is tough to beat.

Picking a completely random date, you’ll see that the pre-paid rate at the W is 261EUR, the Luxury Privileges rate is 315EUR, and the flexible rate is 350EUR.

So for a total of 630EUR you’d get three nights, a confirmed upgrade, free breakfast, a $100 food & beverage credit, etc. You’d also earn Starpoints and stay credits as you usually would. For a hotel market as expensive as Paris, that’s quite a solid deal.

If you want to book a Luxury Privileges rate you’ll have to go through an eligible travel advisor. If you’re an advisor you can of course post your contact info below, or otherwise Ford is also happy to help, and can be reached at [email protected]. If you want to get an idea of what the Luxury Privileges rate is, just take a look at the flexible rates for the hotels, and then subtract 10% from Prince de Galles or the W.

Again, this isn’t any sort of a life changing deal, but I figure Paris is a popular city in our circles, and at a minimum this is a deal worth being aware of.

  1. Ben, great post and thanks for allowing advisors to post contact information. I too saw this promotion come across the wire recently and glad you are promoting it. I follow your blog on a daily basis, you always share great info! Thanks!

Largay Travel is a Virtuoso agency as well as a Luxury Privileges agency. I’m happy to assist with any travel plans world wide. Feel free to contact me at [email protected].

    Thanks again!

  2. Last spring we stayed at the Westin Vendome on a hotel special of buy two nites get one free. Room was a huge Jr Suite King with two French Door Juliet balconies looking over the Turlies (sp?) Gardens & the Eiffel Tower with Room Service Breakfast & Bottle of Champagne. Rate per nite was $500. We considered it a good deal

  3. I stayed at Prince de Galles last year during Xmas, rate was over $800 a night!!! What a beautiful property, it didn’t smell like an ashtray like other hotels in the area

  4. EUR630 for 3 nights does not sound like a deal for a thrifty traveler like myself regardless if what you get. 630 is still 630 no matter how you look at it, and not everyone makes 6 figures and can afford such a splurge 😉

  5. Fantastic! I’m going to Paris during this time and was already looking at Starwood properties anyways! Just sent Ford an email so we can see what the options are. Thanks for the heads up!

  6. Would you be able to use a Citi Prestige Card to get the fourth night free benefit, while still getting the 3rd night free as well through the SPG promotion? So essentially getting 4 nights for the price of 2?

  7. Great post Ben! Thanks for allowing other Travel Advisors to post information as well. I saw this come across the wire a few days ago and thought it was a great promotion as well.

I’m also a Luxury Travel Advisor working for Largay Travel. In addition to SPG Luxury Privileges program, Largay is also a member of Virtuoso in addition to several other elite hotel programs such as Ritz STARS, Belmond Bellini Club, and many others. Let me know if I can be of any assistance, I specialize in planning custom travel itineraries for clients. My email is [email protected]

Thanks! Keep up the great posts!

  8. Ugh more Ford pimping. Seriously, make it stop. This post is great otherwise, but the Ford pushing is just so egregious now.

  9. So if i use this 3rd night free deal, I could combo that with the citi prestige for buy 2 get 2 nights?

  10. @ Dave Shen — The Citi Prestige can’t book a Luxury Privileges rate, so you couldn’t combine the two.

  11. @ Ken — Not suggesting this is for everyone. There are certainly more economical places to stay. Just saying that there are lots of Starwood loyalists out there who would otherwise pay for these properties, and this represents a better deal than they’d usually get. 🙂

  12. I can’t understand why I see rates upwards of €600/night at prince de galles for 20th & 21st of April 2017 while Ben can see the rates mentioned above. Can someone help me?

  13. Chirag,

You need to book through a travel advisor that has access to the special rates. Let me know if you need any help, contact info above.

  14. Any opinions on the W vs. Westin? I prefer the location of the Westin and the W is 38eur more per night. Is it worth the premium, especially given my non-desired location?

  15. ^ Scratch that. Neglected to factor in the 10% discount for the W. Prices are roughly even on my dates. Location aside, which property do you prefer?

  16. It is a steal! Love that hotel! Went there for drinks a few times… normally stay at Le Meurice but have been itching to try this one and Le Bristol for ages! Thanks so much for the great post

  17. Westin will be more of a typical classical Parisian feel. W will be more of a modern/trendy twist on the typical Parisian classical hotel.
Can’t beat the location of the Westin, stayed there several times myself, within easy walking distance to many attractions and close to several Metro stops.

  18. This really is a great offer. I may be biased, but using a travel advisor who’s a part of the Luxury Privileges program (and others like Virtuoso, Four Seasons, Mandarin etc) you really do get access to some fantastic benefits.

I offer services for free and can book anywhere in the world, although I’m based in London. Let me know if I can ever help.

    Many thanks,

  19. Thanks for highlighting the value of a travel advisor.

I’m both a travel blogger (PhilaTravelGirl) and also a Virtuoso travel advisor with access to luxury programs like SPG Privileges as well as Ritz, Rosewood, Four Seasons and others. Cheers!

We can’t wait for our luxurious stay at the Westin Paris. Thanks again for sharing the information and to Rich for the help!!
