This week begins the long anticipated oneworld RTW trip booked with AA before deval. I got lucky finding some of this:

    QR BOS-DOH J on A350
    EY AUH-MEL F apartment on A380
QF MEL-PER J on A330 (Booked with AK)
VA PER-MEL J on A330 (booked with Etihad)
    QF MEL-LAX F on A380

    Summer time is Australia!

Was the award cheaper considering the amount of time you spent slumming it in J?

LOL. Separate tickets. You can’t go east to South Pacific on AA (only SQ that I know of) so
    BOS-DOH 67.5k now 70
    AUH-MEL 60k now 100
    MEL-PER 20k AK
    PER-MEL 21.8 (17k EY transfer on special)
    MEL-LAX 72.5k now 110
    Fees <$100

Any reason you are flying back and forth to Perth? Personally I think Melbourne is one of my favorite cities, but never been to Perth so just curious your thoughts!

Crazy, I know. On a quest to try different carriers and cabins. Virgin Australia and Qantas have new business class cabins featuring super diamond and vantage xl respectively. Plus I can always say I saw Perth.
