What would you do … some coach on EK to the Maldives?

What would you do … some coach on EK to the Maldives?

Ben, since you just got to the Maldives I figured my latest question is well timed. I’m hoping to book EK one-way from JFK. Shortest duration flight is to MLE, though the last leg would be in coach (only for 4.5hrs). that’s the 18hr option. Otherwise, it seems pretty easy to go F all the way to Colombo. The drawback with that route is that a) you arrive at 2:50pm in CMB, which isn’t ideal for connections and b) total travel duration is ~30hours, including a 12hr layover in DXB.

What would you do? I don’t believe you can access the F lounge if you’re connecting to a coach flight. Some F or J seats may open up, but it’s a gamble.

@ grandgourmand — I could be mistaken, but I believe you can access the lounge if you’re connecting same day for first class. To be honest I’d probably do the connection in economy for the shorter travel time and so you can avoid the extra segment.
