Hi – We’re headed to South Africa, and our choices are BA First Class (JFK-LHR on a 747; LHR-JNB on a 380) or Qatar Airways Business Class (JFK-DOH on a 350; DOH-JNB on a 787). I’d be grateful to Lucky, and any of you who have flown BOTH products, if you would compare them, particularly the food and the seats (especially for sleeping.)

I believe Lucky has reviewed BAs business class several times, have you read his reviews? Lucky has also reviewed QRs business class on the A350 and 787, I recommend checking those out too. Lucky has said that QR has one of the best most well rounded business class products out there, especially on the A350 and 787 so I’d recommend that itinerary over BA

Hi David – & thank you for replying! What I’m trying to compare is BA’s F vs QR’s C. Lucky has said that BA’s First Class isn’t much different from some airlines’ Business Class, which is why I’m trying to understand the difference between these two, at first glance, unequal products. I’d be grateful for any insight you might have.

So sorry! I misread and thought you were comparing BAs business class. Lucky has also reviewed BA First – have to you read those reviews? I believe Tiffany has also reviewed BA First as well.

I think first will be pretty special, even if it is on BA. Furthermore, I’ll always choose to fly First in the nose of a 747.

Subsequently I flew in QR’s A350 and it was the best business class flight I’ve taken, maybe the best all around flight (not ground services). So I’m happy with my choice. However, check your DOH-JNB leg as QR I think has switched it to their 777. In that case BA would be the choice for sure. As I look at other reviews I’m always impressed with the comments on QR and not so impressed with BA. I think they are unequal, in Qatars favor on the 350,787 and their 380’s because of the Super Diamond seat. The 777’s and 330’s are not seat wise. Here is my experience on QR.
