Inflight personal items and Pricing of AF
Lucky
I am a long time reader first time poster. First, congratulation on Ford starting a new career. Love reading more about him.
I am excited to be flying AF La Premier for the first time in June from SFO/BCN and MAD/SFO. I have a couple of questions and would like you opinion:
1. This is my first time flying first class and have the opportunity to change into pajama inflight. I am a bit paranoid regarding safety. Where do you put your passport etc when wearing pajama? I usually wear pants with multiple pockets and have all valuables on me all the time.
2. When I purchased my ticket in January I noticed a weird anomaly. The same route was priced at around $7.5k on AF site, $6.5k on Travelocity, but only $5.5 k on a credit card travel site. Of course, I bought from the lowest site and it was billed directly from AF with the same change and cancelation policy. Travelocity lowered the price to $5.5 k later, I don’t remember how long but it was at least 2 or 3 months later.
3. My route has a stop over at CDG (so I am taking a 4 hours lay over:-) on my way out). However, had I bought a ticket SFO/CDG/SFO, the price would have been around $2k more. This is crazy.
Unfortunately, I didn’t do any screen grab at the time so I am a bit fuzzy on the exact detail.
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions.

hi Alin, welcome. Most first class seats have some sort of storage area at the seat where you can store items so they are not far away from you. I’m not sure if AF has a place to store your clothes at your seat but if so you could just leave your valuables in there. Last you could carry a backpack or other carryon that you would keep at the seat with you and use to store your valuables.
Not sure if you have a specific question about the other two bullet points. Airlines do vary their prices based on multiple factors and distribution channels. It’s great that you were able to get a routing and price that worked for you. Enjoy!
