Cancelled Airberlin flight
HI Lucky,
I recently returned from Florence, Italy about 1 week ago. I was scheduled to fly Florence to Dusseldorf then Dusseldorf to Orlando via Airberlin. Approximately 9 hours before my flight, one of my friends traveling with me, received a text from Expedia saying our flight was cancelled. No one else in our group (we were 5) received any notification. We had previously checked in 24 hours prior. Upon checking our phone app, our flight was noted as cancelled. No reference what to do, who to call, etc. etc. We ended up calling the airline and that took approximately 2 hours to resolve. We were rebooked to fly out, 24 hours later. While two of us had travel insurance, what recourses do we have with the airlines? Do we have any recourse with the credit card companies we used to book our tickets? I appreciate your feedback on how to navigate this. Thank you.
