Best Seat from LAX to IND

Best Seat from LAX to IND

Suggestions on the getting the best seat between LAX and the midwest, specifically IND on a Friday afternoon in Feb 2018 even more specifically.

Last of an epic first-class adventure and don’t want to end it in the worst seat. Points/Amex bonus/plain ol’ cash to use – just need some advice, please.

Welcome @Susan in Indy – at that point of your trip I don’t know if there’s going to be a whole lot of difference so I might just see what fits your schedule best. Though I think Delta is generally acknowledged as having the best domestic service.

We’ll have flown “overnight” from Fiji after a couple of weeks on the wrong side of the international date line and will most likely be looking to sleep – as opposed to enjoying a nice long layout at the Centurion Lounge. I was hoping I could talk my way into buying multiple seats on a very convenient Southwest nonstop – worst seats of them all but at $99 each I would’ve bought 6, problem solved, but as we know SW frowns on such shenanigans.

Thanks for the advice to keep Delta at the top of the list. Meanwhile, I will continue to pray for some LAX-CHI lie flat miracle – unless I want to pack on enough pounds to qualify for an “XS” seat assignment and fly SW. Has anyone had any luck buying and actually getting to use an extra seat on SW – if not actually ‘of size’?

While there are a few lie-flat seats between LA & Chicago, I don’t think that’s flown every day. And it almost certainly is not on Delta but (I think) on American. For Delta you’d connect in MSP or DTW.
