Airline Compensation if not able to maintain level of service
Hello,
So a quick question here, maybe someone will have more knowledge. Was on a KLM flight from Toronto-Amsterdam tonight (FEB 12) which took off however returned to the gate because of a faulty nose gear as they say. Flight was cancelled and was only rebooked for Feb 13th flight however not on SKYTEAM metal, but on an Air Canada flight through Zurich to my final destination. First of all, obviously I’m thankful that everyone is safe, and that I was rebooked and etc. I also know that I can claim EU261. However my concern is that I have absolutely no status in *A however hold Platinum Elite for Life in Skyteam (lounges, free premium economy seating and etc). Can I ask for compensation due to KLM not being able to uphold the services paid for or would that be reaching too far?
Thank you,
Matthew
Highly unlikely. Did you request to be booked on AC? You could have called to be rebooked on a different KLM/SkyTeam flight though it could involve connecting elsewhere/more connections.
