A380 First/Business Luggage Space
Hello Lucky,
I am excited for my very First Emirates experience next week using Alaska miles. I will be flying LAX-Dubai in A380 business class there, then Dubai-Seychelles on 777-300ER business class, back to Dubai, then A380 first class from Dubai back to LAX. Question is around conflicting info I have read regarding carry-on luggage.
I am aware that there are no overhead compartments in A380 first. I have read the luggage limits and it appears Emirates allows only a small briefcase-sized item + one small personal carry-on? Yet as I browse the web I have read in several cases that people brought on normal carry-on luggage (what is normally allowed in domestic first class) and was able to store it in the front or underneath in the suite no problem.
I was going to use my 22″ carry-on luggage for the entire trip, but if I am forced to check it in, I would much rather use my 28″ instead. Curious as to your opinion here as well as comments on luggage space on A380 business and 777-300ER business.
Thanks for your time-
Jeremy
Hi @jhawk737, welcome!
I wouldn’t worry about your bag on Emirates — they’re not going to make you check it in First. They’ll find space for it, either in the seat in front of you or in an empty suite, or in a closet.
Sounds like a great trip!

Thanks — After looking I realized that their term “handbag” refers to carry-on luggage internationally, whereas I was thinking the size of a handbag that women here carry domestically.
