Parker says no more protecting bookings
Have you heard anything about AA no longer allowing agents to protect bookings when a misconnect looks likely? Gate guys at CMH told me sadly that they got a notice saying that starting 9/10, they’re no longer allowed to do that. Seems like a pretty major development. The only way they can protect me with a seat on the morning flight for my connection is to cancel and rebook the whole thing for tomorrow.

The only recent news I recall is that AA is no longer allowing duplicate or double rebookings when a misconnect looks likely, except for CKs and EXPs. But I can’t remember where I read it (Flyertalk?) and I can’t find it. But it was within the last week.
