The password for your American Airlines AAdvantage account was recently changed. If you made this change, you don’t need to do anything more.

its possible. id go directly to aa.com and try to log in using your account. if you can get in, change your password anyway.

  3. Carl1 New Member

I did not click on the email. I went to aa.com and tried to log in and it would not let me. Who changed my password is what I want to know. What is happening at AA???? How did someone get my email address from AA? Why could I not log in to my account? I had to reset my password and pick a new one and then I could log in. Anyone else have this issue?

  4. David W Community Ambassador

That is really strange. Might be a hack. I hope you picked a more secure password and checked that any existing reservations are still there, unchanged and that your miles balance is unchanged.

  5. Carl1 New Member

Nothing was changed, all intact. I called AA and complained and I printed out headers, etc. and faxed it to them, never heard back from AA.

It’s probably out of their control and not much they can do for now. a systemwide security update or whatnot is probably not their top priority at the moment
