Park Hyatt Paris Room Upgrade?
I have a six-night stay booked at the PHP using points. This is my first time not staying in an apartment/AirBNB, so I don’t really know what to expect from Paris hotels, except for the fact that the rooms are fairly small. I have the opportunity to upgrade to a deluxe room for 90 euros per night, and I’m wondering if anyone can speak to the difference b/w a standard room and a deluxe. On the one hand, paying that much per night defeats the purpose of a “free” stay, but on the other hand if we’re there for six nights, maybe it’s worth it for the extra space?
I think you have to figure out what you value in your stay patterns. We usually spend very little time in our rooms since we are out and about most of the day. Something that is comfortable, clean and sufficient works just fine. If you spend more time in your room or plan to work from there a lot then maybe you spend a little more. Personally 540 euros + taxes would be a little much for me.
As with a lot of upgrades, it’s the absolute most I would pay, but not out of the question. Their pricing strategies are working! Last time we were in Paris, there were a lot of jet-lag naps in the afternoon, so I feel like a bigger room will be nice to have. Still, $600…
Has anyone stayed in both rooms? I’m curious how much bigger the deluxe room “feels” compared to the standard, which honestly looks kind of claustrophobic based on the website pics.
I’ve stayed in the standard room with queen bed and it plenty big enough for me but I travel alone. It wasn’t small like the European standard one expects. Can’t speak for the deluxe rooms. I could find better uses for €540. I know that they state the cubic meter room size on websites for hotel rooms in Europe if that helps.
