Hyatt Visa Annual Free Night – Primary Cardholder has to Check in?

Hyatt Visa Annual Free Night – Primary Cardholder has to Check in?

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi,

I have a Hyatt Visa and am using the annual free reward night to treat my wife and 5 yr old daughter to a girls night away. I am the primary card holder though my wife is an additional card holder. We have done this before,

When I reserved the room, the agent told me I have to be present at check in. Does that make any sense? Should I just call the hotel to verify/tell them my wife will be there and not me?

    Hi Friends,

I have a Hyatt Visa and am the primary cardholder. My wife has an additional card on my account. I’d like to use the free night for a girls night out with my wife and our 5 year old daughter.

After making the reservation today, I asked the agent if I need to be present at check in (I gave her name on the reservation) He conferred with an ‘expert’ and said I did as this is standard with a free night award. We have used the free night for my wife and my daughter before and this wasn’t the case. Did the policy change or did this have no idea what he was talking about? Think I should call the hotel and confirm?

@Steve Goodfriend — I wouldn’t worry about it. Just call the hotel and have them add her to the reservation. The “rules” versus what happens in practice are very different.
