How do I book an HH reward? n00b question

How do I book an HH reward? n00b question

So I have some honors points and will probably be in Kuala Lumpur early next year. After reading up on reviews it seems that the Double Tree is a fantastic deal at 10,000 HH points per night. Several questions:

1 – When I log onto my HH account and look up the room, it gives me the option to list hotel by city and by points. While the Double Tree KL does show up, it doesn’t show any point rates, just cash for each night. 355rm (~88 bucks)

2 – Since it’s a category 2, it’s 10k per night for a basic room right? How can I find out what an upgraded room costs via points or points+cash? I’d love a terrace view for a night or 2

3 – Are there any comparable hotels point wise in either Sydney, Singapore or Hong Kong? I can go up to maybe a category 4 with the points I have. Not the entire stay, just trying to see what I can supplement with points vs cash.

    Thanks all!

When it shows you the list of hotels in KL, in the header above the price column is a check box to show prices in points. When you click that you get 10K/night. Click to select that hotel.

The next page will show you options. The 10K points is for a 1 King Guest Room. A 1 King Deluxe room is 20,371/night and the prices and room types go up from there, all the way to a Terrace Suite from 92,914/night.

I used 2 people in a room. If you have more than that it will only show you rooms that can accommodate that number of people.

Hmmm, looks like the dates I want aren’t available thru points. :/

Did you only check for your entire date range? If there’s even a single night where a room isn’t available I think you get a “room not available” message. But if you search for each night individually it may be possible to use points for some nights and pay cash for others.

Oh, didn’t think of that. I’ll give it a go later today. Thanks!
