For me airline miles are worth much more than Hilton points. So I typically transfer Hilton points to airline miles once I have accumulated a significant number of points.
Recently I logged into my Hilton account to transfer some points to UA miles. When I did so I saw the following message on the points-to-miles transfer page:
“Effective June 15th, Hilton Honors Members will no longer be able to transfer Hilton Honors Points to airline miles with the following partners: Aeroflot, Alaska Airlines, Avianca, Amtrak, Finnair, Frontier Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Hawaiian Airlines, LATAM Airlines, Philippine Airlines, & South African Airlines. ”
I thought that you and your readers would want to know about this change. I presume that it is true for all Hilton Honors members and not just for me.
Thanks so much for the pointer. I noticed the same thing. Did your UA transfer work? That was not listed as being excluded so hope it did. I have a stay upcoming and I would like to transfer to UA as well. Miles are where my value is at too!
