Amex FHR + Hyatt Suite Upgrade using points: Is this possible?
Good morning,
I have tried to search for this but have yet to find any mention of it, which makes it seem like it is NOT possible, but I figured I would reach out and see if anyone has some specific information.
My partner and I will be traveling to Vienna for a few days later this year and I am getting ready to book our hotel. I had been hoping to stay in the Park Hyatt suite, and as you all know to stay there for 3 nights on points would be almost 150k Hyatt (chase) points. I could also book the hotel via FHR and hope for an amazing upgrade (it is part of our honeymoon trip, don’t know if mentioning that would make any difference).
So to the question: Is it possible to make a reservation with FHR and then later call into Hyatt GP and add the reservation to my GP account, then using 18k points to upgrade the reservation to suite? I don’t even know if you can get an FHR reservation to show up on your Hyatt account, but here’s to hoping that someone may have some insight.
Thank you all in advance 🙂
Congratulations on your marriage!
When you book with Amex FHR, you should be able to provide them with your Hyatt GP number so that it gets linked. Also, I believe the Amex FHR confirmation should contain a Hyatt confirmation number. If not, Hyatt should still be able to find your reservation based on your name and travel dates.
Since you cant find any answers, book a refundable rate using Amex FHR and then call Hyatt to see if you can upgrade the room. If it doesn’t work out, you can cancel the Amex FHR booking.
Hopefully it works out!
