I’m flying Europe to the states and back this fall in *A business class on a cheap fare they had a few months ago (booked through UA). I’ll need positioning flights on both ends. Should I book the positioning flights with *A carriers? My plan would be to then call UA to link the reservations and be protected in case of IRROPS–or do they not do that? Would they link the reservations and protect me or frown on me having separate, cheaper reservations in the first place?
