ZRH E Gates LX F Lounge Access

ZRH E Gates LX F Lounge Access

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Dear Lucky,

I will be flying LH F MUC HKG (LH marketed/operated, issued on 220 stock). Earlier that same day and on a separate ticket, I will fly CDG-ZRH-MUC on LX economy and ticket stock.

Will I have access to the ZRH E Gates LX F lounge while in transit? Based on your review, it would seem potentially yes, as I do have a same day confirmed LH F ticket (http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2016/11/27/swiss-first-class-lounge-zurich-review/)

Swiss’s website doesn’t seem to address this situation directly.

Although not necessarily the same, for a potential comparison, I did check LH First Class Terminal rules (http://www.lufthansa.com/us/en/Lounge-types-and-access) and there is a footnote as follows:

“Passengers who are catching a connecting flight to their First Class flight have access to the First Class amenities provided that their First Class journey was a through booking. Passengers whose First Class flight begins on the same day in Zurich with SWISS International are also entitled to use the First Class amenities.”

I also reached out to Swiss on Twitter but hadn’t received a response within 4 hours.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

You should have access based on the same day flight but the technicality might be that it is not part of a through itinerary (separate tickets) and the nice folks at Swiss can be sticklers. You might just have to show up and see how it goes unfortunately. Let us know how it goes!

    Success!

Managed to check in and received boarding passes for all flights at CDG LX desk, as well as check bag through to HKG.

Clearing immigration at ZRH was seamless. Gave the agent at ZRH E gates LX F lounge my MUC-HKG F boarding pass first and she initially thought it was a UA ticket, so something must pop up immediately saying it wasn’t LX F on LX stock.

However, a quick clarification that it was LH F on LH stock resolved it. I did have to show my boarding pass for ZRH MUC (in Y) as well, but I think that was more to confirm my next gate and flight time, since it was over 4 hours away.

Lounge was fantastic overall, amazing runway and apron views, food was excellent, and day room was perfect for a quick rest and shower. Highly recommended. Also stopped by the ZRH E gates LX Senator lounge Whiskey Bar and that was great too (certainly a much larger selection than the F lounge).
