Where to Credit Miles Flying AA in J Class?

Where to Credit Miles Flying AA in J Class?

I have 50k miles in my AAdvantage account, but the program is very difficult to build miles in unless I spend a fortune! I just booked Dublin, Ireland to Kauai, Hawaii yesterday. The routing is as follows: DUB-LHR-LAX-LIH and LIH-PHX-PHL-LHR-DUB. Obviously that is some great milage! Especially since I booked business class. The cost was ~$2,000, fantastic value! But my problem is that if I credit to my AAdvantage account I won’t get many miles. This is such a long distance I decided to set up an Alaska Mileage Plan account since you get miles based on distance. I know I can’t transfer my AA miles but I don’t want to have a several different accounts with miles in each. What should I do?

@Jesse From Ireland basically you’re trading off accruing mileage in AA to get to a point where you can get a nice redemption vs. accruing more miles in another program. It really depends on what your future goals are. If you are going to be taking short flights around Europe it might be worthwhile to get Avios. You could also credit to AS but do you have the ability to build up miles there in the future? Would it be any cheaper than AAdvantage?
