When do Amex SPG credit card points post?

When do Amex SPG credit card points post?

I’m literally missing nine points in order to get the Marriott package I want. If I were to buy something today, when do SPG points get credited? Or will it wait until to my billing cycle is closed & I pay it? And even if it posts to the credit card account, when does it actually become available to redeem on my SPG account? Wanting to get the points before the end of this month. Thanks!

It waits until your statement closes. You don’t have to wait until you’ve paid the bill. Once you can see the points in your SPG account they’re available to spend.

If you can buy something and immediately pay it off, it’s worth a call to Amex to see if they can push the points since you need so few of them. Of course it’s probably easier for them to get that done if you were earning MRs instead of SPG points but it can’t hurt to call.

Ok thanks! Hmm, it sounds like it’ll just be easier & more immediate if I bought some spg points.
