What to do about duplicate BAEC accounts?

What to do about duplicate BAEC accounts?

I recently realised I have two different BA Executive Club accounts. I had a pre existing British one which I use regularly but I applied for the Chase BA Avios credit card a couple of years ago and realised a second American account has been created in my name into which my Chase bonus/spend Avios have been deposited.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Will BA permit me to merge the accounts and keep all the miles? Just concerned that they might close one and confiscate the miles, as I recall seeing that you’re not meant to have more than one account in your name.

Can’t say for sure what BA will do but I had an AA account for a long time and somehow when I signed up for their credit card awhile back they opened a new one. It was no big deal to have them merge the accounts. Now, that was over 25 years ago but it’s not like I (or you) were trying to do anything sneaky, it was just something that happened when the card was opened. At one point I think AA even had something on their website about merging accounts. Don’t know if BA has something similar or not.
