Virgin Atlantic Fuel Surcharges

Virgin Atlantic Fuel Surcharges

  1. Anonymous Guest

    Hi Lucky and others,

I recently had to reschedule my trip to Europe from Seattle that was originally scheduled for May. I’m pushing back to the first two weeks of July (crossing my fingers).

I originally booked Virgin Atlantic SEA-LHR Upper Class via Delta for 86,000 miles +$5.60.

I did that because Virgin had some hefty fuel surcharges and I’m using business miles (I’d have to pay the cash myself).

I’m looking at the same route now on Virgin, and the price is 59,000 miles +$20. Is this change coronavirus related…. or is this a byproduct of their further integration with Delta/Flying Blue? There is still a $550 fuel surcharge on the LHR-SEA return, so I’m booking a different route.

Either way, I’m stoked to save 27,000 miles, and praying that things will calm down in Europe over the next three months.

    Cheers,

    Jake
