UNITED VS THAI AIRWAYS FARE

UNITED VS THAI AIRWAYS FARE

  1. SQE3 New Member

United doesn’t fly from Bangkok to Hong Kong. Reservations on their site can route via THAI AIRWAYS. Business class on the United site is $1500+; the same flights exactly in the THAI website are $891 for business class.

Why does United charge almost double for the exact same flights and class? THAI AIWAYS is part of Star Alliance.

  2. David W Community Ambassador

Theyre in the same alliance but that doesnt automatically mean they work together on pricing. That only happens when they have a joint venture. And when UA sells you a ticket for travel on Thai, or any other partner, United pays that airline.
